Help That Will Change Your Life

I work holistically using the psycho / social / emotional approach. Each and every one of you are individuals and you all have your own characteristics and idiosyncrasies of which I take into consideration to provide a counselling service that is effective and enables you to understand yourself in your own way using your own sense of self, together with my experience, knowledge and  professional competence.

It can be quite daunting, the thought of talking to a counsellor about personal problems: I understand how it can be a big step, however, I’m an approachable person, with a warm and welcoming manner as you will see from my testimonials. You will learn techniques and strategies to help with life’s challenges, communication skills and much more.

I Truly Believe That We Have All The Answers To Our Own Problems

Stress related problems, such as anxiety and depression are significantly higher than they have ever been, and 75% of GP visits are related to stress. I specialise in stress management and can offer you techniques to combat stress.

I am there to help and support you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours and find those answers. This enables you to feel empowered, autonomous and confident in your own ability to trust yourself to make choices and decisions in order to make the necessary changes. Counselling is a process, and as a therapist it's greatly rewarding to be with a client and watch the process come to fruition and see a client gradually live in a more satisfying, harmonious and resourceful way.

About My Counselling Practice

Having a knowledge of various different approaches is beneficial to clients as 'one size does not fit all', therefore the therapy can be adapted.

I work with an integrative approach which includes:

  • Person Centred Therapy

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Attachment

  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

  • Body Mind Connection using the Polyvagal Theory to calm the nervous system

Knowledge of the theories and providing a safe, respectfully confidential, trusting, empathetic and congruent environment without the client feeling judged is fundamental to my practice.

I work with life situations including: (this list is not exhaustive)

  • Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Stress

  • Bereavement and Loss

    Relationship Difficulties

  • Work Stress

  • OCD

  • Weight Management

  • ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences)
